Richard C. Bradley was born in Leesburg on November 10, 1961. His father Jack served the City of Leesburg as a City Commissioner, as well as, it’s Mayor. His mother Phyllis was a teacher at Leesburg High School for almost thirty years. Richard attended Skeen Elementary School, Leesburg Junior High School, and graduated from Leesburg High School in 1979. After high school Richard graduated from Lake Sumter Community College, as well as, from the University of Florida. In 2006 Richard was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as "Lou Gehrig's Disease," Richard lost his courageous battle with ALS on March 14, 2008. The family and friends of Richard Bradley united in order to honor Richard and his lifelong love of Leesburg High School and the Leesburg Community by awarding scholarships to deserving graduating seniors.

We provide scholarship opportunities that award continuing education, enhance self-confidence, and stress the importance of community service, all while embracing diversity in the communities we serve.
RICHARD C. BRADLEY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Since 2008 we have awarded 45 scholarships totaling $56,500 Criteria for receiving the scholarship is as follows: • 3.0 GPA or Higher. • Involved in at least two extra curricular activities. • Scholarship recipient must use funds for continuing education.
MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUNDRAISING
Primarily all funds are raised through donations to the Richard C. Bradley Memorial Scholarship. A 501 C(3) charity, dba of GLACC, Greater Leesburg Area Community Charities.
Fish’n with Chan is an annual fishing tournament in Homosassa, FL every June, where all proceeds benefit the Richard C. Bradley Memorial Scholarship.
